"“Fun historic hotel” 5 of us traveled to Ketchikan on the start of our 2 week Alaska journey. We enjoyed the short ferry ride across the river from the airport. Got a taxi to town and settled in at the Gilmore. We all liked the old fashioned decor and that it has charm- not a new plastic trendy place. Our beds were comfy, and we overlooked the street which was fun to people watch. Annabelle's bar and restaurant were right downstairs, which was nice as we were only staying 1 night."

"The hospitality and accomodating attitudes of the hosts, the cleanliness & beauty of the home, the terrific food, and the convenient location made this a fabulous place to stay. We have no hesitation in recommending that others try it for themselves. Thanks for making our stay so pleasurable. Go Alaska Tours organized our self drive tour and booked for us this hotel. J. "“Great location and value” if you want to stay in one of the oldest standing buildings in Alaska, right near the heart of town, on top of a wonderful pub, this is the place for you. And the great thing about this place is that you can walk to everything!"

"“Nice historic hotel with great service!” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 weeks ago On unhappily discovering that our flight from Seattle to Juneau could not go further than Ketchikan and we were going to have to spend the night, I selected The Gilmore Hotel from the list handed out at the airport. The night manager was caught off-guard at closing time with a constant barrage of phone calls from stranded travelers looking for a place to sleep. I got the last available room and was told that the taxi was included in the reasonable price. On arrival the manager could not have been nicer - carried my suitcase. brought extra towels and blankets (nice vintage-style quilts). The room was small but very clean and nicely furnished as was the bath. Breakfast in the morning in lovely Annabelle's was adequate but all I really cared about was hot coffee. I highly recommend The Gilmore and will stay again. Stayed November 2014, traveled with family"

"“Quaint Hotel, Great Location” 5 of 5 starsReviewed November 16, 2014 I found the Gilmore hotel to be quaint. True it's an old property, but it has character and I didn't experience anything not working or being 'run down'. The price was reasonable (I believe we got a deal for staying for several days). If you want luxury, this is not the place (and you're going to need to pay quite a bit more), if you want a decent hotel with a great location and some charm, the Gilmore doesn't disappoint. We did have a larger room (Queen & Twin w/ View) and it faced the street. I wasn't really bothered by the street noise (we even opened the windows since the weather was so wonderful while we were there). Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The included breakfast was good (cereal, breads, yogurt, fruit, etc.). Halfway to the second floor, the staircase opens to a landing with a large table, a desk with a computer for guests to use and a coffee and tea stand. The table was always stocked with fresh cookies. In the evenings, I loved sitting on the landing (where I could reach the wi-fi) and enjoying a cookie and coffee while catching up on e-mail, etc. The only real downside to the Gilmore is that the Wi-Fi doesn't seem to reach the rooms. Our room was directly above the reception desk, but even that close, I couldn't get a signal in the room. Overall, the Gilmore has a great location and decent rooms. I found it to be a good value and would definitely stay again. Stayed July 2014, traveled with family"

"“Very Nice” 5 of 5 starsReviewed July 9, 2014 We stayed at the Gilmore Hotel for 4 nites and it was great. Being an old hotel, it is not as perfect as the newer chain hotels but it's age gives it it's charm. The front desk bent over backwards for our needs and it is conveniently located in town. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. We also enjoyed eating at Annabell's restaurant located there too. Our room was located in the front so we were able to look out the windows as the ships came in and watch the bald eagles by pass our room. We had a great time in Ketchikan and the next time we go, we'll stay at the Gilmore again. Stayed June 2014, traveled with family 5 of 5 stars Value 5 of 5 stars Sleep Quality 5 of 5 stars Service"
